The videos are back! Today I drove from Front Royal, VA to Asheville, NC. Originally I was going to drive Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway, but the entirety of Skyline Drive and parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway were closed due to weather. Amusingly of all the states I have visited (and one Canadian Provence) North Carolina has been the coldest. From here it's two days back to Austin. Tomorrow I'll drive Cherohala Skyway through the Smoky Mountains.

Drive Safely man. The Skyway is dangerous this time of year.

I hate you missed the Blue Ridge Parkway. Really one of the only nice things about the state of NC (in my opinion). That and the Biltmore Estate, which is off of the Blue Ridge.. the beach is a beach.
Anyways, have fun on your trip, and be safe.

Sorry, I guess it wasn't clear I drove most of the Blue Ridge Parkway today already.

Oh cool! I don't remember it too well, as I didn't drive it and only rode it long ago. I just know it's pretty much all there is to talk about around here, unless you go to the beach or golf, or are a fan of NASCAR.

Hit up NC151 while you're there. That part of the Blue Ridge should be closed, which means that the last five miles of it or so are an empty run up the side of a mountain before a dead-end where you'd normally get on the parkway. If there's no one coming up when you come down, you're going to have an empty road for a hillclimb.

The Blue Ridge is a bit overrated. The roads leading to it are often more fun and some of them are remote and seldom used.
